Westminster Bible Chapel rests in the quiet recesses of a small neighborhood community. Its location, building, and land all speak of humility in this ever‑progressing society. In contrast to many modern churches which are built on main streets and thoroughfares, WBC stands out as a beacon of serenity. Its stained glass windows and moldering brick walls offer visitors seclusion from the chaos of the world beyond its parking lot walls. It was built through the love of God’s people, and when people visit the chapel on a Sunday morning they will not be greeted with the familiar hustle and bustle of society, but instead, they will hear the joyful sounds of laughter and music, conversation and prayer, which for many will trigger the memories of family dinners and home-life.

We have two elders/pastors who oversee the believers who gather together at Westminster Bible Chapel. Both are commended by our church and enjoy working together. It is part of our local body’s vision to always have plurality in our leadership. The reason for this is twofold: 1) this pattern is evidenced in Scripture (Ac 14:23; 15:2,4,6, 22-23; 16:4; 20:17,28-30; 21:18; 1Ti 4:14; 5:17; Titus 1:5-7; Jas 5:14; 1Pe 5:1); and, 2) it provides for mutual accountability and shared responsibility for those in leadership.
Shawn has been ministering to the saints for more than 20 years and received his Masters of Divinity from Talbot School of Theology in 2005. He and Dawnita married in 2008 and have four children. Shawn loves spending time with his family, and also enjoys sports, writing, playing board games, and, when he gets the chance, backpacking and hiking. Shawn’s spiritual interests include camp ministry, encouraging others in their faith, ministering to singles and young couples, and supporting missionaries throughout the world. Bill is the chapel’s elder at-large living in Bogota, Colombia. He and Angela married in 1998 and have one child, Cedric. Bill received his Masters of Arts in Old Testament and his Masters of Arts in New Testament from Talbot School of Theology in 2009. Bill loves spending time with his family, and also enjoys reading. Bill’s spiritual interests include Bible teaching and discipleship. Despite the distance, Bill is close to most of the chapel’s members and helps out when important chapel decisions need to be made. Shawn and Bill are in regular contact and support each other’s ministries in many ways. While not involved in the day-to-day operations of the chapel, from time to time Bill is called in to lend a hand.
WBC is home to Iglesia Cristiana de Westminster, a Spanish-speaking assembly which meets at the same time as our English-speaking assembly. Our two churches work closely with each other, sharing such ministries as Sunday School and Evangelism. We often gather together as one body for potlucks and picnics as well. From time to time, especially during the holidays or special outreach Sundays our two bodies will worship together. These Sundays always seem to be a hit among the saints as we get a taste of the diversity of worship we will experience in heaven (Rev 7:9-10; 21:22-26). Many of our members are closely associated with both assemblies, which gives Westminster Bible Chapel a distinct cross-cultural feel.
